Who we are...

Tierra-Derco International (TDI)  is an importer, designer and manufacturer of distinctive garden products.  TDI has developed a reputation for fast efficient service, high fill rates, quality products and a broad selection of unique garden hard goods not sold to the big boxes. Top products sold are DeWit garden tools, Worth Tools, Peacock Plant Supports, Eurogarden Kids Tools, Nature’s Feast Bird Products, Deluxe Garden Center Shopping Carts, Rostaing Gloves, and Biodegradable Trunk Liners. 

Tierra, founded in 1998 by Charles Stenftenagel, and headquartered in Jasper, Indiana, is centrally located in the United States. The company was built on the premise of importing distinctive, high quality hard goods from Europe.  In early 1999, Tierra acquired the de Van Koek company.  In 2004, Tierra was appointed the exclusive distributor for WORTH Products, a leading manufacturer of garden tools and accessories in China. 

In July of 2006, Tierra International synergized with Derco Horticulture’s US operations to form TDI. The marriage of these two product lines created a great opportunity for garden retailers to purchase an exclusive selection of hard goods from one reliable source.

By adding Tierra’s lines to the exclusive, high quality designs by Derco, a product offering like no other in the business exists.  Derco Horticulture Inc. of Canada was founded in 1998 with one goal: offering consumers a wide range of unique decorative garden products.   Derco products are conceptualized and designed in-house.  They are also manufactured in their own factories in China. Each year, new designs are added to keep the line fresh and unique. 

In 2009, TDI announced a major partnership with Cranswick, a leading manufacturer of bird feeders in the UK.  This alliance establishes TDI as the exclusive distributor of Nature’s Feast Bird Feeders in the United States.  With Premium to Value ranges of feeders, Nature’s Feast has something to suit everyone, from the bird enthusiast to the casual bird consumer.

In 2011, the National Sales Manager takes to the road with traveling showroom sales calls.

In 2012 TDI unveiled a brand new clothing line called Garden Girl.  This Scandinavian-designed clothing line is the fastest growing high end product line in Europe.  We are excited to be distributing for Garden Girl USA to independent garden centers.

December 31, 2012, TDI acquired the assets of Stone Age Creations, LTD.  This acquisition strengthens our market position and will enhance future growth opportunities.  Stone Age Creation is located in New London, Ohio and has a well-established business with impressive growth since its startup in 2002.  Stone Age Creations offers hand-carved, natural stone statuary and will continue to operate from its New London, OH facility.  The purchase of Stone Age Creations is an excellent addition to the established flagship product lines sold by TDI.
